Tips for Conceiving the Baby Gender of Your Choice

This video discusses the basics of conceiving, in particular, the sexual positions that will tip the scales in your favour for conceiving the baby gender of your choice, according to the Shettles Method. Remember NATURAL methods are NOT 100 per cent foolproof - but you have better chances of success if you 'tipped the scales' in your favour than if you did NOTHING at all!

Even though there is theoretically a 50/50 chance of conceiving either sex, in some families this ratio may be skewed in reality due to for example, an inherited tendency or other factors to have more boys than girls or vice versa.

Did you know that today sperm count is lower in men than say for their forbears due to many reasons eg. higher level of chemical and other pollution, use of laptops, mobile devices, etc.?

Tip: Do NOT place your laptop directly on your lap as there is evidence that 1) electromagnetic radiation as well as the 2) HEAT from your laptop - decreases sperm count!!**

Tip: Similarly with cell-phone storage - avoid storing them in your pocket close to your 'crown-jewels' as that will also reduce sperm count.**

Note: also that pollutants like plastics in the environment eg. food stored or sold in plastic containers, disposable plastic-foam cups, etc., increase oestrogen in the surroundings amongst other things. Higher levels of oestrogen depress sperm count, as well as cause children to mature faster (cf. children are developing breasts at an earlier age.) High stress levels, eg. from work or business, personal financials and / or relationship issues also depress sperm count.

Tip: Don't move around immediately after sex but lie quietly for a while (for the woman) in order to increase the chances of getting pregnant especially if you are using the shallow sex technique (the position often advocated for determining girl gender where you are trying to stack the odds in favour of X-sperm success).

Deep penetration techniques that are recommended for determining boy gender stack the odds in favour of the Y-sperms, which swim faster and so reach the egg faster. Deep methods place the sperm closer to the cervix so the sprinters have a shorter distance to travel to reach their destination before they perish. This is more advantangeous for predicting boy gender especially if you have truly missed your ovulation date because the X-sperms, which are hardier 'long-distance runners' will outlive and beat the Y-sperms to the 'finishing line' - the ovum (egg)! So, now that you've narrowed it down to five days of the month where you are fertile, it's time to figure out how to time your intercourse to choose the gender of your child. Let's take a look at the differences in sperm that carry the chromosomes that decide gender.

A sperm carrying the Y chromosome will result in a boy if it successfully fertilizes the egg. A sperm carrying the X chromosome will result in a girl. There are some main differences in these sperm that are important to understand. The Y sperm are very small, but also very quick and agile. The main downside is that they don't live very long. The X sperm are bigger and much slower, but on the flip side, they live a lot longer.

Keeping this in mind, now let's move to timing. In order to have a boy, it is vital to allow the Y sperm the time they need to reach the egg as quickly as possible. This means that you need to time intercourse on the day that you ovulate. The Y sperm won't live much longer than that 24 hour period that the egg is viable and you need to give them that chance to meet the egg before they expire.

During this time, the Y sperm will have died out, leaving the slower but more durable X sperm behind. This greatly increases the chances that you will have a girl. The Right POSITION

 

The position you choose for intercourse can also determine the sex of your child. Once again, we fall back to the differences between sperm. The Y sperm need to reach their destination in as little time as possible. This means that they need to be released as close to the cervix as possible, shortening the trip they must take to the egg. Positions that allow for deep penetration are ideal.

In order to have a girl, you need to make it more difficult for the Y sperm to reach their target on time. This means that positions where shallow penetration is achieved are necessary. The sperm will be deposited further away from the cervix, giving the X sperm the chance they need to reach the egg, and allowing the Y sperm to die off.

Positions such as missionary are perfect for this, but any position where the man does not orgasm deep within the vagina will work. Once again, you are stacking the deck so that the longer lived X sperm can outlast the Y sperm before they reach their destination.

 

Other Factors to Consider

 

Whether or not a woman orgasms before a man does impact on the determination of the gender of the child that they will conceive. This is due to the fact that once you orgasm, the PH inside the vagina changes due to secretions. Before an orgasm, the environment within the vagina and around the cervix is acidic, which is perfect for sperm carrying the X chromosome. Once you have an orgasm, the secretions change the PH to become more alkaline in nature, allowing the Y sperm the chance to get through. It is recommended that a woman do not orgasm first when trying for a girl.
